Course Description:
A 12 week program that will support individuals to learn the foundational concepts to establish a digital presence that will attract customers, opportunities, engagement, and partnerships.
This course will provide direct instruction on digital branding and strategy needed for personal brands and businesses. Each student will receive individual coaching sessions that will help the student create content that’s in alignment with their brand vision. It will also afford community building initiatives that will promote networking, collaboration, and social interaction amongst people with similar target goals.
Format: Virtual
By the close of the course, students will:
1- learn how to use select platforms & digital tools to support their content delivery goals.
2- gain clarity on the visual/video/language that will support their unique brand identity.
3- have published content on their chosen platforms that aligns with their brand marketing strategy.
4- have a content creation plan that will support students ability to continue to execute on their content delivery beyond the end of the course.
5- learn the do’s and don’ts of digital branding.
6- connect with other individuals who hold similar goals and benefit from shared ideas, new connections, and a new source of community.
Background Info on Dr. Kayra:
Dr. Kayra Alvarado is a seasoned educator with a PhD in education from the University of Maryland. She started a blog in 2017 that allowed her to showcase her passion for style, key life experiences, provide exposure to women and minority-owned businesses, and spread awareness on service initiatives that supported people in need.
Through her work on establishing a personal brand online, she has been able to acquire a strong community of loyal followers on multiple platforms, numerous collaborations and partnerships with businesses, sponsorships with more than 75 brands across fashion, travel, and lifestyle ( Ann Taylor, J. Crew, Maggy London, Nine West, Steve Madden, and many more. )
One of her greatest achievements was a long-term sponsorship with Bumble that allowed her to host events in St. Louis that afforded women with educational business workshops as well as memorable social experiences.
Her expertise has allowed her to teach digital branding at events for University of Maryland alumni, students enrolled in a Creative Academy at Upward Bound, and offer numerous mentoring sessions with people who want to better understand how to improve their digital branding presence.
