Paris, you were good to me...

I had an amazing week in Paris!  One of the things that I enjoyed the most was taking in the Parisian style.  For the most part, everyone dresses so chic, but they do it in a way that it comes off effortless.  They are the epitome of, "I woke up like this."  I loved walking in the streets of Paris, amongst the beautiful architecture, trendy cars, and diversity of language and culture.

I stayed at Hotel Joke, which was an awesome place because they served us a full breakfast every morning, and provided treats for their guests throughout the day.  The customer service was stellar, as they answered all of our questions about how to get around town, and all of our needs were met with promptness.  Lastly, the hotel was in a convenient location, close to restaurants, nightlife, and the train.

My week consisted of visiting The Eiffel Tower,  a river boat cruise, walking through the palace of Versailles & Museum d'Orsay, seeing The Arc de Triomphe, The Sacré-Cœur Basilica, Notre-Dame Cathedral, going to Lollapalooza, and window shopping in Champs-Élysées.  In addition to these places, we ate at cute cafés, chatted with the locals, and I received a free Brazilian Zouk dance lesson on the Banks of the Port Saint-Bernard.

Although, Paris was absolutely fabulous, I wasn't expecting how much I was going to miss my family.  There were times, where even the magical nature that Paris holds couldn't distract my wandering thoughts about what my daughter may be doing or how I wanted a hug from my husband (Paris is pretty romantic).  Anyhow, I had a strong realization that as a working mother, trips are good for the soul and they serve to refresh you and rejuvenate you.  But, I also realized that nothing in the world can compete with the love that you have for your family.

Overall, Paris was very good to me...
